I'm new to this...Well, I just got back from teaching my Zumba class in South Philly. 30 people came tonight.. It was awesome. ZUMBA=LOVE.. everyone should try it. It's the best fitness program. Beats going to the gym and doing the elliptical or even running around outside. For those who are unfamiliar with Zumba... it's a Latin fusion cardio dance work out. I mix fast and slow rhythms at different intervals. Currently, I am certified for the Basics 1, which includes Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa and Reggaeton. It's based on non-verbal cueing, but easy to follow dance moves. It usually takes a few classes to get the hang of it and get use to the latin rhythms. You can burn up to 1,000 calories in one class, depending on how hard you work. My number one rule is DON'T STOP SHAKING. If you stop shaking what's the point in coming to class.. that's the only way your going to burn calories and or lose weight to reach your goal.
